Riverside on the Potomac, a beautiful venue for weddings and special events along the Potomac River in Loudoun County, Virginia, offers sweeping views of manicured lawns, seasonal gardens, ponds, Sugarloaf Mountain and the Potomac River. The patios and Waterfall Terrace are perfectly appointed for cocktail hours and friendly conversations. The sounds of the waterfall and reflections in the pond set the mood for a lovely time in the Virginia countryside. Woods along the river, gardens, and native trees throughout the property offer a gorgeous backdrop; lush with green health in Spring and Summer and warm with transitional color in Autumn. Brides and party hosts will feel supported and relaxed as they plan their event at Riverside on the Potomac which has been carefully designed to accommodate all of their needs. Riverside on the Potomac is also a working farm with horses in three rail equestrian fenced paddocks overlooking the hay fields and polo grounds. My husband, Aaron and I, got married at Riverside on the Potomac in Leesburg, VA on July 16th, 2016. We could not have been happier with our choice of venue. When we walked the property back in January of 2015, we knew instantly that this was where we were supposed to get married. Working with Suzi was a breeze and we hired their granddaughter to be our day-of-coordinator. Delia-Anne’s knowledge of the property and the local vendors proved to be very helpful. When we decided on Riverside, we knew there could always be the potential of an afternoon thunderstorm in the middle of July. Of course we had our hearts set on the outdoor ceremony on their beautiful patio overlooking the pond – but, as I learned throughout my journey, weather was about the only thing I could not control. We knew that our “plan B” was just as good as the patio, and needed to execute this plan on the day of our wedding. Getting married in the stables proved to be an absolutely magical experience. One guest even noted that it felt like a scene from the movie The Notebook. It was very intimate with all of our 160 guests looking on as we shared our vows and went through the ceremony. I am a firm believer that rain on your wedding day IS in fact good luck! The reception was absolutely perfect in the restored barn and our guests ate, drank, and danced the night away.
